Overview
From 1971 to 1974, the San Francisco Mint struck special collector versions of the Eisenhower Dollar in 40% silver proof format. These coins, widely known as “Brown Ikes,” earned their nickname from the brown presentation cases in which they were originally packaged for individual sale to collectors.
Obverse (Front Design)
The front of the coin features a left-facing profile of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the U.S. Army 5-Star General and 34th President. This tribute captures the essence of a leader best remembered by his iconic campaign slogan: “I Like Ike.”

Reverse (Back Design)
