Legendary Australian Rolf Harris officially launches the first of the Australian Artist Kangaroo series with this 2007 Silver Kangaroo Coin. Famous for his distinctive style, Rolf is a master painter and is the official artist for Queen Elizabeth II’s 80th birthday portrait. Born in Perth, Rolf first came to be loved by Australians as an entertainer, with the song “Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport” in 1960. Since then he has developed his career to be a truly international star, in art as well as entertainment.
The Royal Australian Mint is proud to present the Rolf Harris design on this master crafted coin and the 2007 Silver Kangaroo is the first of a three part series featuring designs by talented Australians. The coin is encapsulated and housed in a presentation case and accompanied by a descriptive booklet that includes a Certificate of Authenticity and is protected by a beauty box.
