DESIGN:
The reverse image, by Canadian artist Emily Damstra, depicts a Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) in a mid-air attack position. Revered since the middle ages, the Peregrine Falcon is one of the most striking, beautiful, graceful aerial predators in the world. Known for its breathtaking displays of flight agility, the bird can reach speeds over 300km/h while stooping, making it the fastest animal in the world. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
