DESCRIPTION
They reproduce in the wet season, with the female crocodile laying up to 60 eggs at a time. When the crocodiles are born, only a very small number of these survive in the wild and grow to be adult crocodiles.
Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver, the coin features delightful original artistry and is captured in the shape of Australia.
The coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 6,000 of the Australian Map Shaped Coin Series 2014 Saltwater Crocodile 1oz Silver Coin.
The coin’s coloured reverse depicts a saltwater crocodile against the background of wild wetlands at sunset. The inscription SALTWATER CROCODILE also appears in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark and the 2014 year-date. The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination appear on the coin’s obverse.
The coin is housed in a grey presentation case and custom-designed shipper. Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
