Description
The grandest Murano butterfly has arrived – and each one is completely one-of-a-kind.
With wings like fragments of stained glass and a vivid orange-and-black palette, the monarch butterfly is nature’s own airborne masterpiece. Now captured in breathtaking form on this half-kilogram coin, our largest Murano glass butterfly to date commands attention just as its real-life counterpart does in flight. Handcrafted in Murano, Italy—where generations of artisans have perfected the intricate, vibrant techniques that define Murano glass—each glass butterfly is a miniature work of art, no two ever the same.
Set on a coin accented with selective gold plating, every butterfly becomes a singular expression of craftsmanship. From the original watercolour that inspired the design (and is beautifully reprinted on the included art card), to the radiant glass figure that rests atop the coin, this piece is a celebration of artistry in all its forms.
Murano glass returns in extraordinary form—larger, more vibrant, and more captivating than ever.
