Description
This commemorative 25-cent coloured coin marks the 100th anniversary of the Titanic’s maiden voyage and is a perfect gift for Titanic enthusiasts. Housed in an illustrated presentation folder, it includes historical facts, images, and a timeline of the ship’s fateful journey.
The RMS Titanic was one of the most magnificent passenger liners ever built—a marvel of design, luxury, and engineering. Designed by Harland & Wolff with cutting-edge technology like hydraulic riveting machines and advanced flood protection features, the ship was fitted with lavish interiors, fine art, and gourmet dining, offering a five-star experience. First-class guests were even treated to a grand staircase and elaborate 11-course meals.
Tragically, Titanic’s only voyage ended in disaster on April 15, 1912, when she sank off the coast of Newfoundland. The catastrophe linked Canada to the event forever. Canadian vessels from Halifax participated in the recovery effort, and many victims are buried in Canadian cemeteries. The RMS Carpathia, which rescued around 700 survivors, later served as a troopship for Canadian forces in World War I.
Even a century later, the Titanic remains a powerful symbol of both human achievement and tragic loss.
