In 2010, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the Royal Mint released (on behalf of Alderney) a limited-issue Battle of Britain £5 proof coin struck in solid .925 sterling silver. The reverse portays the Supermarine Spitfire in flight while the obverse features the stunning portait of her Majesty Queen Elizabenth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.
