Description
This year, the Royal Canadian Mint is proud to present the 2011 Specimen Set featuring the Great Gray Owl, one of the world's largest owls. This bird can be found throughout Canada's boreal forests from Quebec to Yukon. Like most owls, it is a talented hunter that relies on its exceptional hearing to find prey. It can hear small rodents 30 cm (1 ft) beneath the snow. When it swoops down to capture its prey, it is able to break through a crust of snow strong enough to support a human being! This set is a must have for all bird lovers!
